Reading Habits Tag (Tiggity Tag Friday)

I’m here with another Tiggity Tag Friday! This week I’m taking on the Reading Habits Tag, discovered on The Bookish Lounge blog. They’re fabulous. After reading this, definitely pay them a visit. The tag was originally made by TheBookJazz.

Now let’s get to it!

1. Do you have a certain place at home for reading?
I’m not good at sitting still, so any spot with good lighting is usually my go-to. I’m probably going to move after ten minutes anyways. Sooo, the place isn’t too important. Normally I choose the couch or bed.

2. Bookmark or random piece of paper?
The thing is… I don’t do either. NOW, before you attack me, I don’t doggy ear the pages either. My go to method is to test my memory. Read that page number once and close the book. Yup! That’s right. I’ll normally spend a few minutes before reading trying to remember the gosh-darn-it page number.

3. Can you just stop reading or do you have to stop after a chapter/ a certain amount of pages?
Yeah, I can just stop whenever but I prefer to finish after a chapter or when there’s a gap in all the action on the page. You know when it goes to a new scene in that same chapter? Yeah? Well, there’s also a handy-dandy spot to stop.

4. Do you eat or drink while reading?
I always have to drink something when reading. I love iced tea when reading, Pepsi Max/ Coke No Sugar are usually my go to when writing. However! I don’t usually eat while reading because it’s hard to multitask and the book can very easily get grubby. (But I’ve been guilty of doing it before, I think every book lover has — yes, even you guys denying it.)

5. Multitasking: Music or TV while reading?
I don’t really see the point of doing either whilst reading. My attention is normally zeroed in on the book. In saying that (I do love to contradict myself), I’ve listened to music whilst reading before. It’s not that distracting if it’s low.

6. One book at a time or several at once?
I’m a one book at a time sort of person. I like my attention to be focused on just the one. I can read more than one at once, but I prefer not to.

7. Reading at home or everywhere?
Evverryywwwheeere! Home is where it’s best, but I’m really not that picky.

8. Reading out loud or silently in your head?
Wait a hot second. People read to themselves out loud? I’ve never heard that before. Huh. I mean, I’ve done it when proofreading but like, never when just reading. Good on you guys that read out loud.

9. Do you read ahead or even skip pages?
Oh! I used to ALWAYS skip to the last page when I was younger. Always. I’d always read it, flip to the first page and get reading. Now, I just keep my flicking ahead when a book is moving hella slow.

10. Breaking the spine or keeping it like new?
I HATE people that try to break the spine. There’s a pet peeve of mine. I mean, pre-loved books can look cool but I just love my books looking all pristine. You know? Treat them with respect y’all.

11. Do you write in your books?
NO. Refer to question number 10.

12. Who do you tag?
ANYONE who wants to do this!! I know this tag is pretty old but if you want to do it, just say that I tagged you. <– I copied this from
The Bookish Lounge blog, but it applies here too.
